This 1969 911E Coupe on Ebay, while rough looking, is a very sorted car mechanically. We know the owner of this car and can personally attest to the fact that this car was used as a daily driver and has been a regular sight in the North and East San Francisco Bay Area for the last few years. The owner got the car after a long period (~20 years) of storage, which necessitated the complete rebuilding of the fuel system, from the tank to the injectors since the entire system was filled with bad gas. The brake system was also renewed at this time. The owner is very fastidious and detail oriented, so one can be sure that the work that was done was done well. These cars often have rust and the owner reports that this example is free of rust aside from a small hole in the floor pan. 1969 was the first year of the long wheel base 911’s, and the E designation stands for Einspritz, or fuel injection to differentiate the 911E with its mechanical fuel injection from the carbureted 911T.
1969 911E’s can be identified by their push button door handles and this car does have desirable 15X6″ fuchs and what look like H1 headlamps. Given this car’s mechanical state, perhaps the best plan is to do a matte black paint job and go down an outlaw path with the car. The interior is past its prime so this would be a great time to go to town in there as well with some GTS Nurburgring seats or something similar from Exotic Car Seats/Italian Car Parts, as well as a Momo Prototipo or something a bit more unusual if you can find it.
The engine compartment is dirty but the seller states the engine is healthy with good compression. The gauge on the left is probably a diagnostic device used when setting up the MFI, a notoriously involved process that yields good results when properly done.
The seller of this car is knowledgeable and experienced with these cars, and has a number of other cool cars, including a BMW 503 and Mercedes Gullwing (without bumpers).
that’s a beauty. I would love to fix that up, it’s just a little rough on the outside
