It’s an Alfa day here apparently. Here on Craiglist SF for $9000 is a 1967 Alfa Romeo Duetto that has not run in 17 years. Somehow despite this, the seller reports the top is new, and shockingly, the car needs new tires as well! Our estimate is that the car will need more than just tires. The seller also reports that the car has some rust, and the extent of the rust and its location is what makes or breaks this deal. There is no mention of the condition of the engine, but in a best case scenario, all that’s required is a battery and a tune-up.
$9000 is a big price for so many unknowns, but if the answers turn out favorable to these concerns, then this might be an attractive deal with some negotiation. These early Spiders are very pretty and increasingly rare. Their values are pretty low still, but nice examples are creeping upwards, which invariably takes other examples up as well.
