1973 Datsun 240Z

Located in Oakland, California

This 240Z was sold new in Montana and brought to San Diego when it was a few months old. It remained in Southern California until I bought it in May of 2012 and retains its six-digit blue California license plates. It has extensive service records from the 1970s and 1980s. When I bought it, the car had a 2.8 liter L28 motor in it, which needed to be rebuilt so I had Dave Rebello rebuild it as a cast iron 3.0 liter motor. He also rebuilt the triple Dell’orto carburetors and installed a 280Z 5-speed gearbox. Less than 500 miles have been covered since this work was performed. In addition to the extremely rare JDM headlight covers (I was offered $750 on the spot at a car show for them once), the car has a genuine Z432 rear spoiler. The car was repainted more than 20 years ago and the paint is glossy but has numerous scratches, as well as filled in holes on the sides of the car where the side trims were removed. The seats were recently retrimmed but the dashboard is extensively cracked.
